Sustainable Kitchen Gardening: Growing Green

Join us for an Intro to Kitchen Gardening class this St. Patrick’s Day as we focus on growing all things green! Microgreens, salad greens, and herbs

This workshop is perfect for anyone who

  • wants to learn how to start growing food at home but doesn’t know where to start
  • is looking for ways to be a bit more sustainable in their day to day

You’re in luck 😉 ☘️ herbs and greens are the BEST place to start when you are learning how to grow your own homegrown ingredients. They require little space, light, and know-how from you. These also just so happen to be the most unsustainable to purchase - they often come in plastic clamshells and are shipped across the country.

So let’s come together set you up for success to grow your own!

What we're going to cover:

  • How to reuse a glass jar to grow your own microgreen sprouts
  • Basics of setup and harvesting of Salad Greens
  • Basics of setup and harvesting herb gardens

Basic ticket includes workshop admission and microgreens growing supplies.

Upgrade your ticket to create your own salad and herb container during the workshop - were planting scallions, parsley, and lettuce.

Composting for Busy Lives

What a great event this past Sunday hosted by Tessa at Walking Lightly! Sara Covatta spoke about starting and maintaining a home composting system. It was so informative and products were available to get you started. The event sold out and, actually, more people attended than registered. It was great to see so many people care about the world we live in!
