Beeswax wraps, Fundraiser for Make Food Not Waste Detroit
A quick swap to replace plastic wrap, these wraps can be used for bowl covers, or to wrap sandwiches or baked goodies to make your on-the-go routine a little more sustainable. And the best news? This purchase is also helping neighbors live more sustainably, because 100% of the proceeds from these wraps will be donated to Make Food Not Waste Detroit so that they can purchase more reusable meal containers. This is a sustainable win for everyone!! The pine resin makes just enough tackiness that the wraps can stick to a rim or to itself when folded over, though sometimes a rubber band helps keep the wrap closed. Wraps can be washed by hand with warm water and biodegradable soap (all of our dish soaps). For best storage, keep wraps rolled so that no creases result. When wraps start to look a little sad, they can be reinvigorated by placing in the oven at 200 degrees F for ~3 minutes on a crafting tray or a tray lined with parchment paper. You can add a little beeswax at this time if needed. We have a small packet with a small, medium and large wrap, and a large packet that includes s/m/l and an extra-large wrap as well. Sizes vary slightly, and all patterns/colors are random since these were all created from donated fabric, and each was hand-crafted, so will have some imperfections (some slight resin deposits, etc.). See our social media for color/pattern possibilities.
