Walking Lightly will be hosting monthly educational workshops to learn (and play) about living life more sustainably.
As pollinator and wild life habitats continue to be impacted, join us for a workshop to learn how to turn your garden spaces into wild flower sanctuaries. Together, we will review the basic steps for building a Monarch Waystation, including:
- Helpful garden tools
- Options for grass removal
- Native plants that will have your garden blooming from May - October
- Other garden features that help pollinators
- Where to buy native plants locally
Our workshop teacher, Sepi Shokri, was inspired by her love of pollinators and flowers to create MIdwest Native Landscaping, whose focus is to create native wild flower spaces for pollinator friends. Sepi is a bee keeper, Certified Master Rain Gardener and working towards becoming an MSU Extension Master Gardener.
